Cerec CAD/CAM Porcelain Restorations

Computer Assisted Design / Computer Assisted Milling is a revolutionary in office system, used in our office, for the design and milling of porcelain inlays, onlays and crowns.  CAD/CAM technology is used in industrial design in the making and design of precision parts and tools in many industries.
The system in our office, allows us to provide high quality porcelain restorations in one office visit, instead of the traditional two to three series of appointments.  The porcelain material is an ideal material for the replacement of large silver mercury fillings.  It is durable, anti-abrasive, plaque resistant and fits and feels like natural tooth structure.
There are no messy impressions to take, as the impression is taken digitally with a camera. The camera sends a 3-D optical image of the prepared tooth to the computer.  The porcelain restoration is then designed on the computer and its specifications are then sent to the milling machine where diamond coated instruments mill a ceramic block to the exact size and shape specified. The restoration is checked for fit, contacts and occlusion in your mouth and then bonded into or onto the tooth...all in one appointment!
